Destination: Jackson Hole & Grand Teton National Park, WyomingNights: 4Group: 48Season: June, July, August, SeptemberEstimated: $4,500–$6,800 per person

Four days threading the Gros Ventre Wilderness on horseback with Mill Iron Ranch's outfitters—high-country camps at 9,000 feet where the Tetons rise like a prayer at dawn. Mornings on Mormon Row photographing the weathered barns in alpenglow, afternoons in the saddle through wildflower meadows and lodgepole stands, evenings around a cast-iron fire with Chef Snake River Grill's pre-packed elk and huckleberry provisions. Nights at Spring Creek Ranch, a private 1,800-acre compound with heated log cabins overlooking the valley, soaking in the outdoor tub under stars before retiring to linens that smell of sage and pine.

Questions

Do we need riding experience?
Mill Iron Ranch pairs you with horses matched to your level; they've guided everyone from first-timers to competitive riders. A pre-trip call with the head wrangler sets expectations and eases nerves.
What's the camp like?
Wall tents with wood stoves, cots with down quilts, and a communal fire pit where the outfitter cooks dinner. Portable camp toilet and a creek for morning rinses—rustic by design, restorative by effect.
When's the best time to go?
July and August offer the most stable weather and wildflower bloom; June and September bring fewer crowds and cooler nights ideal for sleeping under canvas.
