Asheville Balloon Company flies the Pisgah National Forest at 500–2,000 ft above ground — pink-and-gold sunrise over the Blue Ridge, mile-high peaks coming up out of fog. The bridesmaids book the 5:30 AM pickup, an hour aloft over the Pisgah, and a champagne brunch on landing. Day two is a Highland Brewing Meadow afternoon (live bluegrass on the outdoor stage Friday + Saturday), an Orange Peel show at night, and dinner at Cúrate. Decompression: a final morning at the Grove Park Inn spa before the AVL flight.
