Telluride Bluegrass + Via Ferrata Weekend — Telluride, CO

The Telluride Bluegrass Festival (June 18-21, 2026) is the weekend — four days of mainstage acts in Town Park with the box canyon as the backdrop. Sleep at the New Sheridan Hotel (1895 historic, rooftop hot tubs, 231 W Colorado Ave) or Hotel Telluride. Day one is festival arrival and a sunset gondola to San Sophia Overlook. Day two: festival mainstage from late afternoon through midnight — Steep Canyon Rangers, Punch Brothers, Sierra Hull, the rotating roster of Americana legends. Day three: the via ferrata cliff walk above town (cables, iron rungs, Bridal Veil Falls views; hire a guide), dinner at Allred's at 10,551 feet (gondola access, the photo dinner of the trip). Day four is brunch at the Chop House and the slow drive to Montrose (MTJ, 90 min) for the flight out.

Questions

Bluegrass tickets?
Single-day $150-200; four-day pass $400-475 advance. Sells out 6 months ahead. The bridal party should book passes by November of the prior year.
Via ferrata difficulty?
Intermediate — comfortable with heights required, no climbing experience necessary. Hire a guide ($200-300/person) for the full traverse; the bridal party gets harnessed in and clips through the bolted cables.
Allred's reservation?
Book 4-6 weeks ahead. The gondola access is what makes it — sunset run up, dinner at altitude, the gondola back down to town for the bar after.
Where to land Bluegrass campers vs hotel?
Town Park camping for the festival lifers; hotel for the bridal party. The walk from New Sheridan to the festival grounds is 8 minutes.
