Glendeven is an 8-acre coastal farmstead a few miles south of Mendocino — 15 acres of manicured gardens and grazing llamas, 10 ocean-view rooms with wood fireplaces, and the only Mendocino-County-only wine barn on the coast. The bridesmaids hand-feed the llamas in the pasture (the bride's photo for the rest of her life), book a private massage cabin session, and dine at the Wine Bar[n] with bottles pulled from a 200-vintage Mendocino-only list. Day two is a Van Damme State Park forest walk, a Pennyroyal Farm cheese tasting, and dinner at Cafe Beaujolais. 3.5 hours by car up Highway 1. The CMA airport in Little River runs charter flights from Bay Area for groups.

Closest dinner reservation tip?

Cafe Beaujolais books out 4 weeks ahead in summer. The MacCallum House Inn restaurant is the backup and almost as good.
